Starting January 1st , ending December 31st .

 

Minimum requirements of all race levels

  • Race must be listed on USA Hand Bike Circuit a minimum of 1 month before race start.

  • Basic race listing procedure should be followed as outlined under Race Director support on USA Hand Bike Circuit website.

  • Points will be awarded 10 positions deep per category for level B and C races. Level A races will be awarded to the highest 10 overall.

  • Results must be communicated to USAHBC within 1 week post-race.

  • Race levels as described in the below paragraphs include four disciplines of racing. Time trial, criterium, circuit and road race.

                -Time trial is a timed individual race.

                -Criterium racing is a timed or multi lap event. Laps are typically less than 1 mile.

                -Circuit race is a multi-lap event with laps that are more than 1 mile in length.

                -Road race is an event that can be point to point or large laps greater than 7 miles.

                 Typical road race is a large loop.

Racer requirements and points accumulation

  • Division Champions will be based on total points. Tie breaker is total points earned at “C” level races.

  • Classification is defined as MH1-MH5, WH, T and C.

A level race

“A” level races are defined as organized races containing 5 racers or more. They will not have a prize purse greater than $200. Because of the event size points will not be awarded by classification. They will be awarded by finishing position. Approved marathons are included under “A” Level races.

1st– 20 pts. 6th-15 pts.
2nd-19pts. 7th-14pts.
3rd-18 pts 8th-13pts.
4th-17pts. 9th-12pts.
5th-16pts. 10th-11pt.

B level race

“B” level races are defined as State championship events or events containing 15 or more racers and a prize purse greater than $200. Points will be awarded by classification regardless of field size.

1st-100pts. 6th-90pts.
2nd-98pts. 7th-88pts.
3rd-96pts 8th-86pts
4th-94pts 9th 84pts
5th-92pts. 10th 82pts

C level races

“C” level races are defined as races that are multi day events. These events have no prize purse or field size limitations. Points will be awarded by classification. Points will be awarded for each event and not general classification.

1st– 200pts. 6th-175 pts.
2nd-195 pts. 7th-170 pts.
3rd-190 pts 8th-165 pts.
4th-185 pts. 9th-160 pts.
5th-180 pts. 10th-155 pt.
